Charles Sila: Normal Library Board Trustee
- First elected as a Normal Public Library Trustee in 1989
- Mr. Sila was nominated as Libertarian Candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 1998. The Libertarian Party was thrown off the ballot by the politically appointed Board of Election Commissioners against the advice of their own Attorney.
- Trustee for 10 years on a youth drug education agency
- Candidate for Community College Trustee in 2003 losing by 130 votes to two incumbents
- In 2007 Mr. Sila's son Karl Sila was also elected to the Normal Public Library board of trustees
