The McLean County Libertarian Party is one of only seven Libertarian county affiliates in Illinois recognized by local election authorities as an established political party. With a strong presence in McLean County, the MCLP has ran more local Libertarian candidates for office than any other county affiliate in Illinois since 2017, including running candidates for McLean County Board, County Treasurer, County Auditor, Normal Township Trustee, Heartland Community College Board of Trustees, and Normal Town Council. The MCLP also advocates for liberty policies in Bloomington-Normal and the surrounding communities, including government efficiencies, civil rights, and electoral reform.
